The Beltway

Richard James Autumn/Winter '11 belts

The new, Autumn/Winter ’11 belts at the Savile Row shop.

There’s a chocolate suede and grey flannel outer with a chocolate brown leather inner, a blue suede and navy flannel outer with a black leather inner and a chocolate suede and chocolate flannel outer with a chocolate leather inner. These with a the new, slightly elongated square finish polished buckle.

And then there are the punched leather belts with matching inners and outers in black, chocolate and dark tan. These with the classic squared Richard James brushed buckle.

Hand made in Italy from calf leather.

Available in sizes 30″ to 38″, though you might consider one an inch or two larger than your trouser size for that little bit of overlap.

The width of all the belts is 30mm which makes them suitable for jeans or more formal trousers.

Richard thinks wearing a belt with a suit, "cuts you in half". That said, some of our suit trousers that are available as separates (new season cord and moleskin come to mind) come with belt loops. Braces are good!

What do you think about suits with a belt? Or better braces? Do any of your suits have belt loops?
